James M. Menna

Attorney at Law

From a very young age, James Menna was captivated by the history of our Nation and the laws that make it great. Born and raised in the Downriver suburbs of South Detroit, James grew up in a family deeply rooted in law enforcement. That upbringing, combined with a strong sense of justice, led him to Wayne State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.

After serving as a law enforcement officer for several years, James realized he could make an even greater impact by helping individuals navigate the complexities of the legal system. He returned to Wayne State and earned his Juris Doctor in 2000. His legal journey began as a clerk at a prominent firm, but in 2003, with just six clients and a clear vision, James launched his own law practice.

Over the years, his practice has thrived thanks to peer respect, generous client referrals, and a well-earned reputation for integrity and dedication. In 2020, James expanded his services to include family law mediation, completing a formal mediation class and becoming an approved court family law mediator. Since then, he has successfully mediated numerous cases with professionalism and care.

James is currently a resident of Trenton, Michigan, and remains deeply connected to the Downriver community. He previously served as a baseball and football coach, supported youth as part of local swimming and rowing programs, and continues to be an active sports and band booster. His commitment to community extends beyond athletics, as he regularly volunteers with various charitable organizations.

Professionally, James is affiliated with several respected organizations, including the State Bar of Michigan, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar, Wayne County Family Law Bar Association, Downriver Bar Association, and the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association. He was previously associated with the Sobriety Court program.

A dedicated husband and father, James continues to approach every case with the same values he brings to his community involvement: respect, responsibility, and a relentless pursuit of justice.
